1. If your character has walked the Pattern, how long has it been since he/she last walked: - The Rebma Pattern - The Amber Pattern - The Tir-na Nog'th Pattern - The Primal Pattern Liam has never walked the Pattern in Rebma, nor has he walked the Primal Pattern. I believe that Liam would have walked the Pattern in Amber just as soon as Dworkin thought he was ready for it. I cannot see any reason for Liam to have walked the Pattern in Amber a second time. If I come up with some reason in a story later on, I'll let you know. I _do_ believe that Liam would have walked the Pattern in Tir-Na Nog'th, as soon as possible (once he walked the Pattern in Amber), just to see the difference (if any) between the two. Also, I can see a reason for Liam to have walked Tir's Pattern multiple times. Remember that stupid Trump trick I want Liam to do, the one where he Trumps into Tir when Tir isn't visible in the sky? Well, as part of his research, he may need to place various "sensors" in Tir, and the best way of attuning these sensors to Tir that I can think of is for Liam to walk Tir's Pattern while carrying the sensor in question. What do you think?... 2. Your character is in Tir-na Nog'th. What does he/she usually see? What phantoms torment him/her? I don't know. I was thinking this was the GM's privilege. :-) (But please see #3 below.) 3. What does your character usually dream about? Nightmares? Pleasant dreams? Oberon's head on a pike? Since he's half Fae, I doubt he even _has_ dreams. If he does dream, he probably has dreams about the time he spent in the Faerie Realm of Underhill. Also, as with #2 above, as a _player_, I'm expecting (and hoping :-) for Liam's dreams (and his visions in Tir) to be one of the ways you the GM will give clues and hints to me the player. 4. Describe, in a couple of words how you feel about the following characters (such as "Hate", "Distrust", "Will Follow to the Ends of the Earth"): (Since not all of the players have posted info on their characters, I cannot yet decide how Liam will feel about the characters in question.) Jordan - Friendship. Errol - Friendship. Marcus - Friendship. Dominic - Friendship. Arric - Friendship. Giles - Friendship. Jorrel - Friendship. Alwyne - Friendship. Magenta - Friendship. Kyle - Friendship. Neville - Friendship. Amadan - Friendship. Malcolm - Friendship. Jack - ??? (Like?) Gen - Friendship. Kel - Disappointment and distrust. (Rivalry?) Oberon - Ambivalent, uncertain. Yearning for friendship/love/acceptance. (See my "Unresolved Concerns" in Liam's write-up.) Dworkin - Respect bordering on _awe_. (Assuming Liam knows that Dworkin _created_ the Pattern.) (Notes to GM): - "???" means that I don't know enough about that character -- _or_ the player -- to decide what feelings Liam has about that character. 5. Where does your character get the laundry done? Liam gets his "laundry done" (if you can call it that) at Olympus Prime. Used clothing is discarded into a "recycler". The recycler breaks the clothing down into organic molecules, filters out any "impurities" (dirt, inorganic compounds, etc.), and stores the recovered organic material for later use. When replacement clothing is needed, the recycler creates the new clothes using the organic molecules it has on store. These are the same recyclers that deal with virtually all organic wastes. They also create most of the meals eaten by the common citizens. In other words, the laundry chute and the sewage feed into the recycler, and the recycler feeds into the autochef and the autotailor. 6. What kind of underwear does your character wear? Briefs, usually. (If preparing for a date that may probably turn amorous, he _might_ consider wearing bikini briefs. :-) 7. Describe your character's personal bedroom or suite. In the castle at Amber, Liam has a two-room suite. The sitting room has bookshelves on every available part of the walls, save only the two doors (the one used to enter the suite, and the other leading to the bedroom). These bookshelves are filled to overflowing with books on various subjects, such as the histories of Amber, Rebma, and the Golden Circle, military tactics and strategy, art (primarily focusing on painting and sketchwork, but not exclusively so), lexicons and dictionaries for commonly encountered languages, maps and atlases of commonly known Shadows, textbooks on numerous subjects (such as mathematics and engineering, chemistry and physics, biology and medicine, and so on), and a surprising variety of fiction (detective novels, heroic fantasy, science fiction, and so on). The only other furniture in the sitting room is a large, comfortable couch and a luxurious leather recliner (_THE_ La-Z-Boy of which all others are but Shadows ;-) next to the fireplace, with small endtables on either end of the couch and on the left of the recliner, a drafting table with stool in a corner, and several floorlamps (some being wizard-globes, the rest are the usual oil lamps) providing a generous amount of light to read by. Whatever book Liam's been reading is usually sitting on the recliner, and the couch is usually covered with many of Liam's "notes" (his sketches of works in progress). The bedroom is as much a painting study as it is a bedroom. The furniture in the room is arranged so as to provide Liam with enough space for his easel and stool and for a subject to model comfortably. Alongside a wall is a large (king-size?; larger?) bed with extra pillows. The bedframe is of solid, "box"-like construction (as with a waterbed) and there are several drawers built into it. There is also a mirrored armoire, a small nightstand with a pitcher and bowl, and even more lamps than the sitting room. If, by any chance, there exists a secret passageway or two that connects to Liam's suite, the door(s) are locked from Liam's side, and a "Do Not Disturb" sign from a popular chain of hotels (The Royal Motel) hangs on the door from the other side. 8. Did you character ever have a pet? Nope. (But see #9 below.) 9. Everyone has some little item that they regard as somehow sacred. Sorry. In this case, Liam is the exception. :-) Actually, Liam's steed, Quicksilver, _might_ qualify as a combination "pet", "sacred item", and _tool_. (Loki is more of a _companion_, and he would probably be offended to be called a "pet". Once QS's intellect is "upgraded", QS will be re-evaluated as more of a companion, and would probably develop a similar sensitivity to obsolete labels. :-) Liam acquired QS from a "mad scientist" type (like Reed Richards of Marvel Comics' _Fantastic_Four_). Liam assisted in the construction, but the majority of the work was done by the scientist ("Dr. Miraculous"? "Dr. Diablo"? I'll think of the name later...) using the local super-technology in the comic book "superhero" Shadow. (Technically speaking, within the framework of the _Amber_ game mechanics, this was Conjuration, but the visible special effects were that of "extremely advanced ultra-technology bordering on 'magic'".) Liam was a filthy rich industrialist who was the financial sponsor for the team of superheroes that included this scientist. One of Liam's conditions was that the scientist construct Quicksilver so that Liam could also be a participating member of the superhero team. As Liam advances in power, he will re-visit this Shadow (whose timeflow is relatively in tune with Amber, no more extreme than 3:1) and get this scientist, or some other trustworthy superhero scientist, to "upgrade" Quicksilver's abilities. 10. What would your character consider to be the perfect death? As young as Liam is, and with immortality being on _both_ sides of his family tree, he's probably never even _thought_ about his own death, but if he were ever forced to consider the idea of an "ideal death", he'd probably want his death to be heroic and meaningful. (At heart, he is probably a romantic.)
