Anti-Quicken

This common third-level wizard spell halves the attack and movement capabilities of all creatures affected. It counters -- and is countered by -- quicken.

Apprentice's Basic Casting

This ubiquitous first-level wizard spell (which is hereafter referred to simply as ABC) is almost always the first spell learned by apprentice wizards. ABC allows the caster to produce a virtually unlimited number and range of magical "special effects," usually for accomplishing various "household" tasks.

Elvenglow

This first-level druidic spell illuminates the target creature with a pale aura as bright as the light of the full moon, making it easier for archers to fire at the creature.

Evermore

This eighth-level wizard spell lets the wizard make some other spell permanent.

False Aura

This uncommon first-level wizard spell allows an illusionist to imbue a non-magical item with a magical aura. This aura can trick someone with mystic senses into thinking that the item is itself magical.

Fixit

This first-level wizard spell allows the caster to mend minor damage suffered by non-magical items.

Handshock

This common first-level wizard spell lets the caster give an electric shock to the next creature the caster touches.

Heal Critical Wounds

Magelock

This common second-level spell allows the wizard to magically lock a door, chest, or other item. This spell has a reverse which allows the wizard to open a locked door, chest, or other item.

Major Wish

This very rare ninth-level wizard spell is the ultimate spell, capable of granting virtually anything the caster wants.

Minor Resurrection

This powerful fifth-level priest spell allows the caster to resurrect a recently slain character from a distance. The reverse of this spell, minor slaying, allows the caster to instantly kill a character from a distance.

Missiles of the Magi

This ubiquitous first-level wizard spell creates up to five missiles of an arcane nature that unerringly strike their target. These missiles are negated by a shielding spell.

The missiles formed by this spell have escaped formal classification. They are neither fire nor lighting (electricity), nor are they of any other form of energy that occurs in Nature.

Nega-Magic Sphere

This uncommon sixth-level wizard spell creates a spherical zone about the caster wherein no magic of any kind can function.

Phantasmal Images

This common first-level wizard spell produces a simple visual (sight-only) illusion.

Phantasmal Sounds

This common first-level wizard spell produces a simple audible (sound-only) illusion.

Prismatic Orb

This popular (yet expensive) first-level wizard spell produces an orb of magical energy. The exact effects of the orb depend on the specific color chosen for the orb by the caster.

When the triggering conditions are met, this spell creates a magical pair of lips on the item, and the lips speak the caster's recorded message aloud. This spell is frequently used to guard a wizard's treasure hoard.
