Introduction

For fifty years, Merlin, the son of Corwin, has reigned over the Courts of Chaos as their King. Surrounded by those who seek his favor for their own ends, and plagued by those who despise his Amber heritage, his days will soon be numbered.

His days as a bachelor, that is. . . .

In the Courts of Chaos, a fiftieth anniversary is the first truly important milestone, almost regardless of what it's the anniversary of.

It has been almost fifty years (in Chaos) since Merlin, son of Corwin of Amber and Dara of Chaos, ascended to the Throne of Chaos. (In Amber, only four or five years have passed, while in Shadow Earth, about twenty years have passed.)

As Merlin is (still) a bachelor, his impending anniversary carries with it an even greater significance. For, in accordance with ancient Chaosian tradition, any ruler of a House who is unwed must choose a bride not later than the fiftieth anniversary of his ascension to the rulership of his House. (The announcement of the future bride and the date for the nuptials is usually one of the high points of the celebration.)

You see, in his role as the King of Chaos, Merlin is also, by default, the ruler of his own personal House. Therefore, in just a short time, the future Queen of Chaos, the future mother of the future Crown Prince of Chaos, is to be chosen.

And your characters will be stuck right in the middle of this. . . .

After attending Anime Weekend Atlanta, I've gotten several of my NPCs illustrated! I've gotten illos for Kalto and Anakara Minobee, Andreas Chanicut, and Baron Laan.

Eventually, I'll get them to a scanner, and post JPEGs of them online. :-P
